POETRY - LIKE THE MOON

Like the Moon (a True-Self Portrait)

Like the Moon

hovering in the night sky

with light not its own

reflecting,

illuminating the dark landscape.

Like the Moon

against the black cloth of space

torn to let the light through

conscious,

is the one who hovers.

Like the Moon

Alone in the distant Absence

with all that’s left of the Light

Presence,

touching the generative source.

Like the Moon

influencing tide swells of emotion

stirring ocean depths before the surface

animating,

caressing the waters teeming with life.

Like the Moon

dwelling in silent isolation

over this sphere of abundance

connection,

unseen, but with significant rhythms.

In the words of Tu Fu: (From ‘Gazing at the Sacred Peak’)

create change concentrate divine beauty

or reversing the point of view:

beauty divine concentrate change create
