NEWS - FACEBOOK REVIEW FROM DANI MOLINTAS (IN THE PHILIPPINES)
SPIRITUAL SUNDAY. What does it really mean to be 'spiritual' in today's world?
In this first book in the trilogy, The World of Owl, a group of young friends -- artists and coders -- decide to undermine the totalitarian state that controls and oppresses them. They launch a creative, nonviolent struggle that puts them in grave danger.
My friend Geoff Hall has taken on the challenging endeavour of using a novel genre -- fantasy-supernatural-mystery-thriller -- to bring this message of hope and love to a locked down, anxious, hungry, despairing world that is just as dystopian as the one he created in his book.
Frankly, I think this novel was truly meant to be an interactive, graphic novel -- the plot itself demands a broader, more modern storytelling that integrates video, music, graphics and interactivity. But my friend Geoff has a working-class background that limits his resources. So please buy this book so that the proceeds can bring this wonderful story (which, by the way, I think should also be read by a teenage audience, with parental guidance) to a format where it can be most powerful.
