OWL:BELIEVE - THE FACEBOOK BOOK LAUNCH

27th June - To correspond with the date that the White Rose Movement starting writing its anti-Hitler, anti-Nazi pamphlets, we held a dry run for the book launch on Facebook. It also includes the first public reading of a poem by Jack Stanza, called ‘Soul Wound’. Check out the Video below.

Soul Wound

Soul wound of

injury, sickness

the pain of generations

we need to let go

of this shit

and be caressed

by lovers who have

shared the journey.

For we are soulwalkers

whose only exclamation

is a sigh, a deep soul sigh

Spirit mingled with

pain, release, purged

of this trauma.

Trauma has its own intimacy,

the intimacy of victims,

the intimacy of survivors

connecting the pain body

beyond this fragile skin.

Paper skin written on,

labelled by our tormentors,

the tattoo of hate, inscribed, scripted

in numbers, or bruises on our skin.

Paper soul, wanting to write

of love, but is overwritten

with grief, deep wound

calls out to deep wound,

meets me here, where we will

heal one another in our embrace.
